### Summary
**Are you a Registered Dietitian looking to serve as an IT system project manager/administrator for a Virtual Call Center and other IT systems in use by the National Institutes of Health, Nutrition Department? If so, the Nutrition Department is looking for a Registered Dietitian with comprehensive knowledge of IT systems, concepts, and methods to join their team to plan, coordinate, implement, and maintain the department's clinical and food service databases, so please make sure to highlight and thoroughly describe your Dietitian (Informatics) experience in your resume.**

### Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate and implement clinical and food service databases, system enhancements and software including item files, data input, report development, and application introduction, enhancement and implementation.
* Review new ingredients and food products for specific research diets and general patient meals to determine nutrient content.
* Participate in the development of new menu items and create standardized recipes in response to the addition of new products.
* Analyze database management issues and recommend changes to enhance functionality.
* Test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data.
* Develop and revise standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with meeting performance standards.

### Qualifications
**You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet one of the following Basic Qualification Requirements:**
Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in the fields of dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science. The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (external link) (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. For dietitian positions, the curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (external link) (formerly American Dietetic Association (external link) (ADA) prior to January 1, 2012) in effect at the time of graduation.
**OR**
Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by AND (formerly ADA) for dietitians or nutritionists.
**OR**
Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
**In addition, you must meet the following Additional Qualification Requirements to qualify at the GS-12 level:**
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to develop new menu items for research protocols; analyze database management issues that affect dietary patient care, research and program management; implement and manage an organizational SharePoint Site; establish quality assurance program goals for an organization or program; and train new employees on nutrition-related computer systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
